Had my sister help with the lace-up back and it took maybe two minutes. The ties thread through little loops so the criss-cross stays even and symmetrical. They're long enough to make a full bow that hangs down the open back and honestly the bow itself is a cute detail. Wouldn't try to tie it yourself though — you really need a second pair of hands.

Practical note about sitting: the full accordion-pleated skirt fans out quite a bit when you sit down. At a banquet table it was fine but on a smaller chair or bench seating it takes up noticeable space. Not a dealbreaker by any means just something to be aware of if you'll be at a crowded table or in tight venue seating.

The combination of the structured ruffles on the shoulders and the sweeping pleated skirt makes you feel like you're wearing something truly special. I straightened my posture, held my head up, and owned that room. A dress has never done that for me before.

The deep V-neckline is the perfect frame for a statement pendant or layered chains. I went with a simple gold lariat and it looked amazing nestled in the neckline. Fair warning though the ruffle shoulders compete with big earrings — I'd recommend keeping it simple above the neck and letting the neckline do the talking for jewelry.

They're well-made and undeniably eye-catching — I can see why others love them. The dress just isn't the right fit for someone whose aesthetic runs quieter. If you love bold sculptural details this is absolutely your dress.

The inside of the bodice has a smooth lining that's comfortable against the skin. No built-in cups or boning though, so if you need structure or support you'll have to figure that out separately. I'm a B cup and was fine with just adhesive cups, but anyone larger might want more reinforcement. The exterior of the dress is really beautiful.

However the combination of the deep V-neckline, exposed sides, and completely open back was too revealing for the bat mitzvah I'd planned to wear it to. It would be perfect for a girls' trip or date night where more skin is welcome. Just wasn't right for my occasion.

Danced until 3am in this dress and never once felt restricted. The pleated skirt has so much movement you can do full salsa turns without the fabric pulling or bunching. The bodice stayed in place the whole time thanks to the lace-up back keeping everything secure. A true party dress that actually lets you party.

I have fair cool-toned skin and unfortunately the warm coral and peach palette washed me out. The dress itself is beautifully constructed — the pleating, the ruffles, the satin quality are all excellent. But the color just wasn't flattering on my complexion. If you have warm or olive undertones this would look incredible. For cool-toned fair skin I'd wait for a different colorway.

It billows and lifts which is dramatic and beautiful but could be a concern depending on the situation. The good news is the skirt is fully lined so there's zero risk of a wardrobe malfunction. Just be prepared for some Marilyn moments.

I'll be honest I was nervous about the cut-outs. I'm 38 and a mom of two and showing my sides felt risky. But these cut-outs sit high on the waist right at the narrowest point above the hip and they actually create the illusion of a longer torso. I felt sexy and put together at the same time. My husband booked a second dinner just so I could wear it again.
