Wore this to my best friend's wedding last Saturday and I am not exaggerating when I say I had to stop and stare at myself in the bathroom mirror three separate times. The ruffles across the bust give a red-carpet drama that you just don't expect from an online purchase, and the slit is high enough to dance in without worrying about flashing anyone. I got more compliments than the bride's sister and I'm not sorry about it.

I can usually tell in seconds if something is fast fashion or quality. This one confused me — the construction, the finishing on the inside seams, the weight of the fabric — it reads much higher end than the price suggests. The criss-cross back ties are finished with neat ends, not frayed. Impressed.

My only hesitation was the open back for a December event but I threw a faux fur stole over myself during cocktail hour and the dress was warm enough for the heated reception. The accordion pleats actually insulate more than you'd think. The stole over the ruffled sleeves looked incredible too.

I am very difficult to please with formal dresses. This one I have zero complaints about. The color is sophisticated, the pleating is precise, the fit through the bodice is snug without being constrictive, the back detail is stunning. Nothing to nitpick. Nothing. That never happens.
