I'm a size 12 with hips and was skeptical about how the cutouts and crossover waist would sit on a curvy frame. The waistband actually cinches right at the narrowest point and the pleated skirt skims over everything below. Genuinely flattering. I would say size up if you're fuller in the bust because the V pulls a bit.

The satin has a really satisfying weight — not flimsy at all. It drapes against the body and the pleats hold their shape nicely. My one note is it did pick up a few light wrinkles during transit in the box, but a quick steam sorted that out. Fabric quality exceeded my expectations for this price range.

The lace-up back straps are adjustable which is great in theory. In practice it took me about three attempts in front of the mirror to get both sides even and symmetrical. Once tied properly it looked beautiful and held well all night. Just allow extra time getting ready.

I was nervous about the deep V — I'm a 36D and was sure I'd be exposed. But the pleated bodice panels are wider than they look in photos and provide actual coverage. I did use fashion tape at the center point just for my own peace of mind, but honestly it stayed put on its own. The crossover waist is incredibly flattering. Took one star off only because I wish the V had a tiny hook option.

I opened the box and literally gasped. The satin sheen on this dress makes it look three times the price. The rigid branded box it ships in already felt like a gift to myself. When I put it on for my friend's wedding I couldn't stop touching the fabric — smooth, heavy enough to drape properly, and the burgundy is so deep and rich it almost glows. This dress does not look like what I paid for it, and I mean that in the best possible way.
