On a windy terrace the tiers blew around beautifully but the V-neckline flapped open a bit. Double-sided tape is essential for breezy outdoor events.

I rolled this carefully in my suitcase for a destination wedding and the pleats came out looking nearly perfect. No steaming needed, no ironing. A couple of the bottom folds had minor compression marks but they relaxed within an hour of hanging in the hotel closet. For a fully pleated dress that's impressive travel performance. Only minor imperfection keeps it from a five.

Wore this to an August wedding in Texas and was surprised at how comfortable it was in the heat. The satin can feel warm in direct sun but the open back and side cut-outs let air circulate in a way that a fully closed dress wouldn't. Smart design even if unintentional. I was cooler than friends in their tighter dresses.

I'm a B cup and was fine with just adhesive cups, but anyone larger might want more reinforcement. The exterior of the dress is really beautiful.

I specifically wanted to mention how this dress behaves when you're seated, since most event dresses are photographed standing. The pleated skirt doesn't bunch up between your legs or ride up awkwardly, which is a common issue with maxi lengths. It fans out around the chair quite gracefully. The one thing to be mindful of is that when you lean forward the side cut-outs naturally open more, showing additional skin. Not a problem for me but worth knowing if you're self-conscious about that area.

I'll admit I was sceptical about the ruffle shoulders at my age - I'm 55 and large ruffles can easily tip into fancy dress territory. But in person, in this satin fabric, they read as architectural rather than juvenile. They're layered in a way that adds structure to the shoulder line rather than just volume for volume's sake. The satin gives them weight so they don't look floppy. I wore this to a black-tie dinner and received several compliments specifically on the shoulder detail. My only note is that the V-neckline benefits from a camisole for anyone wanting less exposure.

5'2 and had to hem about 3 inches. Expected this with a maxi. My seamstress charged $15 and now it's perfect. If you're petite just plan for that.
