I intentionally wore zero jewelry with this dress — no earrings, no bracelet, no necklace. The ruffled rosette shoulders provided all the visual interest I needed around my face and neckline, and the pleated skirt handled everything below. The satin pleats made this gorgeous swishing sound against my ankles every time I moved — like the dress was keeping its own beat. I danced soca, dancehall, everything, and the skirt just flowed with every single movement. Not once did I step on the hem or feel restricted. A dress that can handle a Caribbean reception dance floor is a dress that can handle anything.

A lovely dress that I genuinely admired on the hanger and in photos. On my body at size 16, though, the side cutouts created an unflattering emphasis on my midsection. The openings are positioned at a width that works beautifully on a smaller frame but on mine they stretched wider than intended and the satin pulled across my stomach above the cutout line. I could see this being absolutely perfect on a size 4-10. At my size it just wasn't the right silhouette. Returned with regret because the pleating and shoulders are truly special.

I looked over my shoulder and he was just standing there staring at the criss-cross ties over my bare back with his mouth slightly open. This dress understands the power of a reveal. The front is beautiful but the back is where it becomes unforgettable.

The photographer asked me to turn ninety degrees between each frame because the pleats fall differently from every angle — front-on they're a clean vertical cascade, from the side they fan into these sweeping curves, from behind you get the lace-up drama. The accordion folds catch and release reflections in a way that makes the whole skirt look alive. The skirt pooled about four inches on the floor even in my highest heels, and the rosette shoulder ruffles looked slightly oversized relative to my narrow frame. I had it hemmed and the proportions improved significantly, but petite buyers should absolutely budget for alterations. The pleating makes hemming more complex than a standard dress. Once altered though — the fit was beautiful and worth the extra investment.

The criss-cross pattern is intuitive once you see it — the ties are long enough to pull around to the front while you thread them, then you reach behind to snug the bow. Took me maybe four minutes the first time. The adjustability is the entire reason the fit is so perfect. Having control over exactly how tight the bodice sits changed everything.

Wore this to a racing day event and I have to be honest about the one major issue: floor-length satin on outdoor grass does not work. My heels sank into the turf and the hem dragged through damp grass for the entire afternoon. The pleats along the bottom were stained and crushed by the end of the day. This is an absolutely gorgeous dress but it needs a hard, clean floor. If your event is outdoors on any soft surface, reconsider or budget for serious cleaning after. The dress itself is stunning — just not built for the elements.
