You absolutely have to steam this piece right out of the package. It arrived pretty harshly creased from shipping, but once I spent ten minutes with a hand steamer, the satin smoothed right out into this incredibly high-gloss finish. Beautiful weight to it once ready.

If you have a longer torso, it hits perfectly above the waist. If you have a short torso like me, it dips quite low. I had to use fashion tape to secure the sides just to be safe. Still kept it because the front fit was flawless.

The way this is cut, specifically the V-neck with that ruffle overlay, adds volume up top while the ruching in the back creates an illusion of hips. It basically constructed a silhouette I don't naturally have. The straps aren't adjustable, which is my only gripe, but they sat at the right height for me.

That said, the way the bodice fits without a bra is surprising; the lining is thick enough that I didn't feel naked, just used some adhesive covers and I was set for the night.

The zipper felt a little sticky over the ruched part at the back, probably because the fabric is gathered so thick there. Once it's up, it's fine and holds you in, but I definitely needed a friend to help me zip it up without catching the delicate fabric. Once on, it feels like a second skin.

My only gripe is that because it's chiffon, it arrives with stubborn fold lines. Do not iron this. A handheld steamer got the wrinkles out in literally two minutes.

However, because the back is so low, you absolutely cannot wear a regular bra. I used basic nipple covers and fashion tape to keep the front V-neck secure, and it stayed put all night.

The fabric is delicate, so rather than risk tripping and ripping the chiffon, I paid to get it hemmed about two inches. Worth the extra cost because the drape is beautiful, but factor that timing in if you’re petite.

I used sticky boobs and the lining was thick enough that you couldn't see the outline of them at all. The invisible zip at the back is a little stiff when you pull it up over the thickest part of the flower embroidery, just go slow so you don't snag the ribbon work.
