Took this to a destination wedding in Tulum. Rolled it carefully in my carry-on between tissue paper and hung it up immediately at the hotel. Most of the dress relaxed and smoothed out within an hour, but there was a stubborn crease right at the waist where it had been folded that needed a quick steam. Not a huge deal since the hotel had a steamer, but something to plan for. The fabric itself has a nice resistance to wrinkling otherwise, and the applique wasn't affected at all by packing.

I'm 5'2 and 115 lbs, ordered the XS. The fit through the bodice and hips is really lovely — it follows my shape without being tight. But the length is designed for someone taller. Even in 3-inch heels the dress pooled about four inches on the floor. I took it to my tailor and after hemming it looks perfect and the mesh border detail was preserved. Just factor in $25-30 for alterations if you're under 5'4. The dress itself is absolutely beautiful and I don't regret buying it at all.

Worth noting for anyone concerned about sheerness: the mesh overlay is a separate layer over the full opaque lining, so the body of the dress is not see-through at all. However, at the very bottom hem, the mesh extends approximately two to three inches past where the lining ends, creating a delicate sheer border. Your lower calves and ankles are visible through this section. It's a lovely design detail that gives the hem an ethereal quality, but if you want full opacity to the floor, be aware. I'd still call it tasteful rather than revealing.

Wanted to mention that the ruffle shoulder detail is significantly more dramatic in person than it appears in the product photos. The cascading layers extend well down the upper arm and have real volume — each ruffle stands out from the body rather than lying flat. The craftsmanship is excellent and each layer has a clean finished edge. However, if your aesthetic leans minimal, this may feel like more of a statement than you anticipated. I'd say the ruffle is the loudest element of the dress by far. Beautiful work, just calibrate your expectations.

Inspected this quite thoroughly before wearing it out. The invisible side zipper is genuinely well-hidden — runs smoothly and lies flat against the body. The full lining is soft and sits comfortably against skin without bunching under the mesh overlay. Stitching on the applique is clean and secure with no loose threads. My one reservation is that there's no built-in bust support, so you'll need to sort out a sticky bra or go without for the one-shoulder cut. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing. Solid construction overall.

When the lace-up is tied, the cords create a small knot and two trailing ends at the small of the back. Against the clean vertical lines of the pleated skirt below, this knot is visible and creates a slight bump in the silhouette from behind. I tucked the trailing ends under the waistband which smoothed the line. If the ties were designed to thread through the waistband and conceal completely it would be cleaner. The criss-cross pattern above the knot is genuinely beautiful though and the visible lacing is a feature, not a flaw.

The satin finish is slippery by nature and I noticed the crossover wrap at the bodice migrating slowly over the evening — the V-point drifted about half an inch deeper than where I'd originally set it. Not dramatic, not a wardrobe malfunction, but I adjusted it twice during a four-hour event. A small interior snap or hook at the crossover point would eliminate this entirely. Otherwise a truly beautiful dress that I received endless compliments on.

This dress demands undergarment planning I didn't anticipate. The deep V rules out any standard bra. The open back rules out anything with a band. The side cutouts rule out high-waisted anything. I ended up purchasing a separate low-back adhesive bra and seamless thong specifically for this dress. Once I had the right pieces underneath it looked spectacular and felt secure. Just budget for that extra shopping trip — you will need specialty undergarments.

The side cutouts expose more of the waist than the product photos suggest. On the model they read as subtle peek-of-skin details. On my shorter torso they're approximately four inches of bare skin on each side — from just below the bra line to the top of the hip. I ultimately loved the look and got many compliments. But if you have a shorter torso or expected a small keyhole-style cutout, adjust your expectations. They're generous.

Turned it inside out before trying it on, which is my standard practice. Seams are overlocked with no raw edges visible. The invisible zipper is inserted with reinforced bar tacks at both stops. The waistband junction where the bodice meets the pleated skirt is double-layered, providing structural integrity at the stress point. Lining is single-layer and lightweight — functional but not substantial. Interior finishing is appropriate for this price tier. Competent construction, nothing that signals corner-cutting.

Fair warning for outdoor events in windy conditions — the pleated skirt has enormous surface area and strong gusts sent it flying in every direction. I wore this to an open-air racing event and spent part of the afternoon wrangling the fabric in unexpected directions. In a controlled coastal breeze it's gorgeous and cinematic. In genuine wind it's unmanageable. Choose your venue accordingly. The dress itself is stunning and I'd buy it again for the right setting.

The dress is impeccably constructed and the dusty blue is one of the most sophisticated colors I've encountered in event wear. The neckline, however, plunges to approximately mid-sternum — approximately 20 centimeters of exposed chest from collarbone to the V-point. For a corporate awards context this was too deep for my comfort. I positioned a fine pendant necklace to create a horizontal visual across the chest which helped establish a perceived boundary. A modesty-panel variant for professional settings would expand this dress's reach considerably.

Folded this into a packing cube between sheets of tissue paper for a flight to Sardinia. Left it packed for two days. Pulled it out expecting disaster — every single pleat was perfectly intact. No creasing, no flattened sections, nothing. The accordion pleating actually makes the dress wrinkle-proof because the fabric is already folded by design. Clever. Docking one star only because the lace-up cords tangled badly in the suitcase and took real patience to unknot.

The ruffle sleeves are cap-length, covering only the very top of the shoulder. My upper arms are fully exposed and at 50 they're softer than they used to be. I considered adding a wrap but decided against it. The sculptural volume of the ruffles draws the eye upward to the shoulder, and the dramatic pleated skirt commands attention downward. The eye genuinely skips past the upper arms. Still — if full arm coverage is non-negotiable for your comfort, this dress won't provide it.

Quick note for dry-climate wearers — the pleated skirt develops static cling in low humidity. I noticed the individual pleats sticking together and clinging to my bare legs during the outdoor ceremony. A quick spray of static guard before getting dressed eliminated it entirely and it didn't return once I was moving around. Minor issue, easy fix, but worth knowing if you're in Arizona or similar.
